Introduction to Gromov—Witten invariants
Abstrakt:
Roughly speaking, Gromov—Witten invariants are rational numbers that count pseudoholomorphic curves meeting prescribed conditions in a given symplectic manifold. In this lecture we explain the idea behind the notion of Gromov—Witten invariants and its relation with other non-linear invariants of differentiable manifolds such as Donaldson invariants and Seiberg—Witten invariants. We also give applications of these invariants in topology of symplectic manifolds.
